Position Overview:

The Business Development Support Engineer will provide technical support to our External Relations and Business Development team to help develop external relationships and partnerships in support of General Fusion’s technology roadmap. The successful applicant will be expected to hit the ground running and thrive in a fast-paced and constantly evolving work environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Mechanical Engineer looking for diverse and challenging work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support for strategic partnerships, government relations and business proposals, including technical analysis and report preparation.
• Identifying synergies between General Fusion technology development needs and partner capabilities.
• Review and validate technical accuracy of external communications.
• Act as a liaison between internal technology teams and external-facing functions, ensuring alignment and timely information flow.
• Contribute to a positive work environment and promote safe work practices.
• Support additional projects and responsibilities as needed.

Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a sales engineering or equivalent role.
• Solid foundation in engineering and physics principles, including power systems, fabrication, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics.
• Ability to work independently and lead projects from initiation through completion, including cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong ability to translate evolving internal requirements into clear, stable external specifications, and to assess when updates are required.
• Proven ability to manage shifting priorities and deliver results in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
• Demonstrated adaptability, with the ability to identify opportunities, adjust scope, and execute under tight timelines.
• Registered as a Professional Engineer with EGBC, or actively working toward registration.

We welcome applicants with relevant mechanical or engineering experience. Candidates who hold P.Eng or EIT credentials will be hired under the Support Engineer title. Those without these credentials will be assigned an equivalent title that matches the scope of their position.

The typical hiring range for this position is $95,000 - $115,000 per year. General Fusion considers many factors when determining total compensation including job specific or highly specialized knowledge, skills and experience, proficiency, job location and internal equity.
