Internship Program Overview:

Project Title:

Sustainability in Thinfilm Processes: Reducing Waste and Energy Consumption

Project Objective:

The project will focus on identifying major sources of energy consumption and material waste within thinfilm deposition processes such as PVD and CVD. By analyzing current process parameters and equipment performance, the intern will uncover opportunities for optimization that enhance efficiency. Building on these insights, strategies will be developed to reduce energy usage while maintaining film quality and throughput, contributing to both sustainability and cost-effectiveness in semiconductor manufacturing.

Project Outcome:

The intern will gain hands-on experience in semiconductor manufacturing with a focus on sustainability, learning how to analyze complex processes, interpret data, and develop practical optimization strategies. This project will strengthen skills in process engineering, problem-solving, and environmental stewardship—valuable for both academic growth and future industry roles.

Impact on the Company: Successful implementation of recommendations can lead to cost savings, improved resource efficiency, and alignment with green manufacturing initiatives, enhancing both operational performance and corporate responsibility.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Reduce energy consumption and material waste
  • Conduct technical analysis
  • Optimize the usage of data analysis

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements, and programs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Material Engineering, Electrical Electronic Engineering, Chemical Engineering OR any related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Specialization in Material Engineering or Chemical Engineering
  • This application is for students undertaking a 20-24 week credit-bearing internship from June 2026 onwards.
