As an intern, you’ll support the development, testing, and improvement of electrical systems used in gas turbine engine test facilities in Winnipeg. You’ll gain hands-on experience, collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, and explore real-world applications of your classroom learning.

What you’ll do:

• Assist in the design and integration of electrical engine and facility control systems using PLCs, instrumentation, and engineering software.
• Review and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and documentation to help develop requirements and specifications.
• Support the maintenance and troubleshooting of engine test cell systems, including measurement systems, cooling systems, and fuel supply systems.
• Work with engineers to install, commission, and test electrical/electronic systems used in engine test facilities.
• Help create and update engineering documentation such as requirements, test procedures, wiring diagrams, and operating instructions.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to collaborative problem-solving efforts.

Basic Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Strong interest in electrical/electronic system design and hands-on engineering work.
• Ability to read and understand technical documentation and engineering drawings.
• Strong organization, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and engineering tools.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Enjoys working collaboratively in a team environment.

Desired Skills:

• Experience with PLCs, HMIs, or control systems (coursework or project experience welcomed).
• Exposure to electrical or electronic component selection and system design.
• Previous internship, co-op, or project experience with electrical design, testing, or documentation.
• Understanding of how individual components contribute to larger system functionality.
