The Reliability Engineer I - Temporary will be responsible for engineering activities needed to develop and implement reliability plans for Division-specific Products. Works with product engineering and core team members to ensure reliability objectives are completed before product launch. Ability to effectively interface with product engineering and core team members to communicate and support use of reliability plan. Maintains ongoing summary of all reliability projects.
This position will serve our Air Conditioning Division, located in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
- Provide support to Product Engineering on establishing and improving written reliability requirements as part of each key component, sub-system and product (system) qualification plan. Develops and generates reliability prediction models, as needed to develop recommended test methodologies for components, sub-systems and product (system).
- Support development of reliability test cycles based on real world user profile of the product in field.
- Ability to translate warranty data, DFMEA outputs, PFMEA & Control Plan inputs and field test findings to prevent reoccurrence of failures in testing and field.
- Works closely with Product Engineers, Project Teams and Reliability Lab to maintain data of ongoing WHD projects for Boundary Diagram, Interface Analysis, P Diagram, DFMEA and DVP in Reliability database and/or software.
- Supports project teams to meet reliability objectives before product launch.
- Supports and ensures Boundary Diagram, P Diagram, Interface Analysis, Reliability & Robustness Checklist and Design Failure Modes Effects Analysis (DFMEA) are completed as required for each project.
- Provide support to the Reliability Lab and Product Engineers with test failure investigation and reporting process.
- Support Product Engineering with utilization and of Design of Experiment (DOE) analysis.
- Ability to serve on multiple functional teams to support development of project reliability requirements.
- Attend DFMEA reviews with each assigned project team.
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or other related engineering fields.
- 0-1 years of experience in product development reliability engineering.
- Demonstrated ability to develop product and component reliability prediction models using Weibull distribution. Hands on experience with Mini tab is preferred
- Experience training personnel on reliability processes and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to work well with others in a team environment
- History of regular and consistent attendance at work
- Clear understanding of reliability statistics and analysis skills
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization as it pertains to reliability engineering
- Experience training personnel on Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Boundary Diagram, P Diagram, interface analysis and reliability and robustness check list
- Be able to read and interpret drawings and engineering specifications
- Strong problem solving, project management and coordination skills
- Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills
HOW TO STAND OUT
- Master of Science (M.S.) in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
- Working knowledge of UL and CSA water heater standards
- Working knowledge of Six Sigma statistical tools and techniques
- Working knowledge of data analytics tool i.e. Tableau, QlikView, Alteryx
