In this position you will be afforded the opportunity to telework, however there will be required weekly in-office day(s) in Helena. Specific conditions will be outlined as part of the job offer and must adhere to state policy.

We're looking for an enthusiastic and technically-minded individual to join our team as a ServiceNow Administrator. This is an exciting opportunity to help modernize Montana's state government by enabling digital workflows and forms for agencies.

In this role, you'll be instrumental in developing and promoting the use of ServiceNow, focusing on its user-friendly, low-code/no-code capabilities. You'll be involved in the day-to-day operations of the platform, managing user accounts, helping to configure out-of-the-box applications like Incident, Problem, and Change Management, supporting existing Service Catalog items. You'll also be a crucial first point of contact for troubleshooting common user issues, assisting with basic technical problems, and contributing to clear documentation of our processes. All of this will directly help state agencies build efficient digital solutions that will ultimately better serve Montanans.

If you're a problem-solver with strong technical aptitude and some exposure to programming languages (JavaScript is a plus!), but perhaps don't meet all the education or experience requirements just yet, don't worry! What are we looking for?

Education and Experience:

  • Associates degree in Computer Science or a related field, and
  • Two years’ experience as an IT professional
  • Alternate combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Competencies:

Knowledge of:

  • The theory and practices of administering industry standard COTS solutions like ServiceNow
  • Ability to read, understand, and potentially write code in JavaScript.
  • Experience or aptitude in designing and implementing digital processes.
  • Database theory

Ability to:

  • Develop and manage technical governance around developed application
  • Support agency adoption and collaboration
  • Provide excellent and timely customer service
  • Explain technical issues to non-technical people
  • Ability to analyze business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Critical thinking to identify challenges and propose effective remedies.
  • Taking ownership of tasks and seeking out opportunities to improve processes.
