What is this career opportunity?

We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative IT Asset Management (ITAM) Program Specialist with a technical background to support and enhance the enterprise-wide ITAM program. This role bridges technical knowledge with strategic coordination, helping to mature asset lifecycle practices across hardware and software. The specialist will work alongside IT leadership to ensure asset data accuracy, policy compliance, and efficient onboarding/offboarding processes, while also fostering strong relationships with stakeholders and partner agencies.

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of IT hardware and software assets using HAM/SAM tools.
  • Ensure real-time inventory accuracy and data quality to support compliance and reporting.
  • Develop policies and assist in shaping ITAM governance and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to align ITAM strategy with business goals.
  • Support new employee onboarding through workstation setup and IT orientation.
  • Manage secure offboarding processes, including asset recovery and credential deactivation.
  • Contribute to audits, procurement planning, and change management initiatives.
  • Deliver metrics and insights to IT leadership to guide strategic decisions.

What are we looking for?

Education and Experience:

  • An Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Business or a related field; AND
  • One (1) year applicable experience in IT support, onboarding coordination, or asset management.
  • ITAM certification preferred (i.e., Certified Asset Management Professional (CAMP), Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM), Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional (CHAMP))
  • Alternate combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Competencies:

Knowledge:

  • Understanding of IT asset lifecycle management.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn IT asset management tools (e.g., ServiceNow)
  • Foundational knowledge of HAM/SAM practices.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to collect, synthesize, and present asset data for strategic use.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Skilled in relationship building and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Basic workstation imaging, software deployment, and license management skills.

Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to advance program goals.
  • Ability to anticipate needs, identify gaps, and propose practical solutions aligned with business and IT objectives.
  • Ability to lead or participate in process improvement initiatives, training, and stakeholder outreach programs.
