What is this career opportunity?

State Information Technology Division is seeking an Identity Manager and A.I. Support Specialist. The incumbent will be responsible for working with other engineers within the division to research, implement, manage, and support the Active Directory environment in combination with several other Identity Management Solutions for the State of Montana.

These solutions include Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Azure Active Directory, Okta, Google, and others. While all these specific skillsets are desirable, we can provide training to bring an eager, outgoing individual with strong technical skills up-to-speed.

What are we looking for?

Education and Experience:

Level 1:

  • Associates degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field and
  • 4+ years’ experience in developing and administering a professional Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Entra environment.
  • Alternate combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Level 2:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field and
  • 3+ years’ experience in developing and administering a professional Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Entra environment.
  • Alternate combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Additionally, it will pique our interest if you have experience working with Azure Active Directory, Microsoft Identity Manager, or Okta.

Competencies:

Knowledge of:

  • Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and Modern Authentication.
  • Microsoft Entra ID - General Management, Application Registrations, and Conditional Access.
  • Microsoft PowerShell - Moderate to High Skillset, Including Building Scripts and Automation.
  • Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems – Including Server Core
  • Knowledge of business A.I. Tools and/or Microsoft Copilots, including prompt engineering, adoption, educational guidance and troubleshooting.

Additional beneficial knowledge sets:

  • Okta
  • Computer Networking
  • Microsoft Graph API
  • Computer Programming Languages or knowledge of other Low/No code solutions.
  • Microsoft Office 365
  • ServiceNow

Ability to:

  • Develop and implement IT solutions that span multiple technology stacks.
  • Work collaboratively in small teams to improve the operations of immediate work group by offering ideas, identifying issues, and respecting team members.
  • Provide a high level of customer service and staff training to meet customer service standards and expectations.
  • Resolve service issues in a timely fashion.
  • Assess architectural risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Comfortable in performing demonstrations for customers and other Information Technology professionals.
  • Effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Adapt to shifting business requirements.
  • Work with minimal supervision and be a self-starter.
  • Develop innovative solutions to problems.
