We have an opportunity for a UpCycle & Carbon Capture Technology Manager (TM) to join the Honeywell UOP Process Technologies Technical Sales Team. The team belongs to the Sustainable Technology Solutions Business, which is dedicated to the rapid commercialization of sustainable technologies at a time when interest and investment in these technologies is starting to rapidly accelerate. This TM role will be accountable for leading technical proposal preparation and related customer engagements for UOP’s sustainable technology solutions, including Upcycle and Carbon Capture.

Ability to develop unique technical solutions that optimise our customers’ project economics and positively differentiate UOP’s technical offering from those of our competitors.

Ability to work independently as well as closely with colleagues in other groups (Sales, Technical Sales, Integrated Project Solutions (IPS) Group, Engineering, Development and business management) to enhance UOP’s offerings for Upcycle and Carbon Capture technologies.

Good communication skills.

Strong Ownership to see projects through to award.

Key Responsibilities:

Drive business results by understanding customer needs and positioning UOP’s offer to provide the client the most bankable techno-economic solution.

Develop technically and economically optimised solutions for sales opportunities, both for revamp & new unit scenarios. Quantify the value that UOP’s solution offers above those offered by competitors.

Develop competitive yield estimates for both revamps and new units.

Own and manage proposal projects to ensure all deliverables are met by engaging with Engineering, IPS, KME, Modular, Development, Services, and the catalyst and adsorbent businesses.

Work with Project Sales to provide input to commercial proposals for license, engineering and catalyst costs, develop guarantee positions, initial and subsequent drafts of the engineering and guarantee agreements and provide technical support for the sales phase of the project.

Conduct the technical part of customer meetings for technology updates, bid clarifications, technical proposal review and general positioning of respective technologies, including developing and delivering the necessary presentations.

Facilitate the transition of projects from proposal to engineering design with a sound and complete design basis. Provide design teams with relevant project history and assist with customer relationships.

Provide feedback to appropriate parties at UOP regarding design weaknesses and strengths, sales opportunities and competitive intelligence.

Maintain a thorough knowledge of the Waste Plastic Recycle and Carbon Capture Technologies and understand the competition landscape.

Present at technology conferences, seminars and other non-project customer events.

Take part in Win-Loss reviews with Sales and the Business.

Represent the Technical Sales group to participate on NPI programs to develop new waste plastic recycle and carbon capture technology, through to launch.

Improve work processes, tools, capabilities and sales collateral.

Qualifications

You Must Have:

BS degree in chemical engineering.

We highly value:

Experience with Waste Plastics, Carbon Capture, Gas Processing, Coking, Slurry hydrocracking and other refining process technologies.

Experience in a direct customer-facing role.

Familiarity with industry regulatory requirements and future mandates

Proficiency with UniSim process simulation tool.

Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills. Experience in technical writing and preparation of proposals

Ability to handle multiple priorities and navigate in a highly matrixed environment.

Ambition, self-motivation, results orientation and problem-solving skills with a positive outlook and a clear focus on driving profit. Courage under fire yet flexibility for changing market needs

Ability to balance between short-term achievement and long-term development.

Ability to work in both independent and team-oriented modes.

A natural forward planner who critically assesses their own performance.

>10 years’ experience in the refining/petrochemical industry. This experience can come from roles in process technology development, process design, operations or technical service.

Strong presentation, communication and technical skills.

Ability to travel 25%-50% of time domestically and globally to customer locations
