Role Number:200582955
At Apple we craft products that enrich people’s lives. Do you love working on challenges that no one has solved yet? Do you like changing the game? We have an opportunity for a forward-thinking and hardworking Wireless System Engineer. As a member of our multifaceted group, you will have the rare and extraordinary opportunity to craft upcoming products that will delight and encourage millions of Apple’s customers. In this technical role, you will be at the center of a silicon design group responsible for system design of pioneering wireless SoC’s for very high data rate applications. You will focus on finding innovative solutions to challenging PHY/MAC Cross Layer problems with the goal of achieving robust system performance in dynamically changing and congested radio environments. This will include proposing, simulating, supporting SW/HW implementation, bringing up in the lab, and optimizing advanced algorithms addressing areas such as rate adaptation, interference management and coexistence. You will work closely with SW engineers, HW digital designers, architects, and Product teams to achieve these goals. Good interpersonal skills will be essential to understand domain requirements and constraints - and converge to a final solution that achieves performance, cost, power, and other requirements.
In this role, core responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Implement system models and investigate innovative algorithms in PHY/MAC cross-layer to mitigate the impact of dynamically changing and congested radio environments, and achieve robust performance Discuss with product teams and come up with novel algorithms and procedures to satisfy the requirements of emerging applications in real life conditions with congested radio environments Perform simulations to prove the efficiency of the designed algorithms, and validate them on emulation platforms Work closely with SW engineers, HW digital designers, Product teams and architects to understand domain requirements and constraints, and align on the best solution Bring up, test and characterize the crafted algorithms on real silicon in lab, evaluate and assure interoperability performance with other APs and STAs Come up with enhanced solutions based on the behavior and performance analysis of real silicon systems in practical setups or environments
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
