Responsibilities
The Characterization Hardware Engineer Intern’s responsibilities would include but not be limited to the following:
- Characterize tunable high-speed optical transceivers
- Set up R&D stations
- Execute automation in test stations.
- Write testing software in Python
- Characterization of optical sub-assemblies (TOSA/ROSA)
- Execute debugging on test stations and modules
- Execute Design Verification Tests. Write technical reports
- Support qualification activities
- Interact with internal design engineers in US and overseas
Minimum Qualifications
- Qualified candidates will be enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Electrical, Optical Engineering or Physics.
Desired Qualifications
- Candidates have taken graduate courses on optical communications, and/or RF, and/or high-speed analog design. Other relevant areas may be considered.
- Software development experience (Phyton)
- Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills
- Lab experience with optical and RF equipment
- Experience characterizing lasers, photodiodes, and active optical subassemblies.
- Experience with optical transceivers or transmission optical subsystems
- Solid foundation in digital, analog circuit design, and optics
- Experience with GUI Development, Word Macro/Templates/ Outline/Table, Excel, Matlab
- Data analysis
- Strong communications, initiative, and teamwork
- Strong experience using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
