Job summary

The Payroll Team Lead will be responsible to oversee the payroll processing for several countries in EMEA, collaborate with the payroll vendor/s and direct the work of the team members supporting these particular countries.

Your role in our mission

Payroll service delivery management (70%)

  • Ensure timely and accurate data submission to the payroll vendor/s, according to the agreed process and timeline.
  • Plan and assign the activities according to the payroll calendars, ensuring proper resource utilization.
  • Monitor the case volumes and other case related metrics and SLAs, for the Iron Mountain team and for the vendor.
  • Drive high customer satisfaction.
  • Service delivery excellence: constantly review the existing processes and procedures, identify gaps and improvements and make recommendations for changes.
  • Ensure payroll controls are in place, up to date, and followed through by the team.
  • Make sure that all processes are documented and reviewed regularly.
  • Closely supervise activities related to the UK payroll processing in particular.

Team Management (15%)

  • Manage day to day activities for a subset of the team, including monitoring workflows, team assignments and processing deadlines.
  • Organise the work in such a way that there is a proper backup structure and plans in place.
  • Monitor performance against goals.
  • Provide timely feedback to the team members, take corrective steps where needed.
  • Lead with empathy and by example, ensuring high employee engagement and morale.

Escalation Management (10%)

  • Serve as first point of escalation in case of payroll related issues for the supported countries.
  • Manage employee, business and vendor escalations for the supported markets.

Vendor Management (5%)

  • Support the EMEA Payroll Manager in the activities related to vendor management - monitoring of the vendor performance, services reviews etc.

Valued skills and experience

  • Experience in Payroll, Finance or HR Operations with cross country exposure.
  • Good level of understanding of UK payroll.
  • 1-2 years experience in leading teams and/or projects.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Payroll operations (in-house or vendor side).
  • Strong background in working with HRIS, preferably Workday, as well as case management tools, ideally ServiceNow.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build strong partnerships with key stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations that require sound decision making.
  • High degree of comfort with change, with the skill to easily shift priorities to meet business needs.
  • Strong analysis, problem solving, proactive root cause analysis, customer interfacing and conflict resolution skills.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
