Intern, Visualization - (240000ED)

Description

This is a full-time internship position for our Summer rotation, from June 6, 2024 through August 16, 2024 in Santa Monica, CA.

We are looking for a designer who is passionate about materials and material based design and enjoys diversity of projects, is self-motivated, and is inspired by design.

The Visualization Intern will support and experiment with new visualization methods and pipelines in our LA studio. They will aid in the creation of virtual environments with online and in house assets and create libraries of assets. The intern will interact with other design professionals and colleagues at Designworks on collaborative projects in an effort to gain hands-on learning experience. The Intern will be challenged to think in versatile and flexible ways in order to develop the most innovative design solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support visualization needs across departments
  • Support DW teams with pitch work to create new business opportunities 
  • Support the Design teams with cutting edge visualization deliverables

The hourly rate for Undergraduate students is $25.30.

The hourly rate for Graduate students is $32.20.

The selected student's academic level will be used to determine the final pay rate. This statement is in accordance with state and local pay disclosure requirements.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor or master’s degree program at an accredited college or university 
  • Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major)
  • Have completed at least 30 college credit hours at time of application (must attach a copy of college unofficial transcript)
  • Prior BMW Group experience (applicable to international J1 students only)
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) 
  • Field Study: Industrial Design, Visualization, Gaming, Creative Technology or other related field
  • Knowledge of 3D Visualization software, i.e. Unreal Engine, Blender, Vray, Vred
  • Experience with AI tools as they may pertain to pipeline efficiencies
  • Experience with editing visualizations
  • Excellent time-management skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously; excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information
  • Self-motivated, adaptable to a dynamic environment

Preferences:

  • Languages: English (fluent, oral and written)
