Principal Custom Design Engineer for Process Development test structures.

The CTO/Design Enablement/Silicon Certification Test Vehicle Group (TVG) is responsible for developing and debugging advanced test structures for device modeling and characterization, and design collateral validation. TVG is also chartered with providing product-specific test structures that enable the NXP business lines to monitor the performance and variability of critical circuit elements.

Job Summary:

  • Exciting opportunity in the NXP Design Enablement organization leading teams in design of process development and foundation IP validation test structures.
  • Drive innovation of design and test for advanced test structures.
  • Create strong relationships with global manufacturing partners, technology development, business lines, design and test engineering.
  • Lead and maintain world class quality standards and innovative technology development for foundation IP and process technology used in NXP product designs.
  • Develop strategic roadmaps and long-term improvement plans.
  • Lead structured problem-solving efforts with a total quality culture approach.
  • Maintain substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art semiconductor technologies and device architectures, and may contribute to scientific literature and conferences.
  • May participate in development of patent applications.
  • May coordinate interdepartmental activities and research efforts.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Physics or related industrial or scientific field is required. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 10+ years of experience with progressively increasing levels of technical leadership in a state-of-the-art semiconductor development environment.
  • Experience in physical design, simulation, test.
  • Proficient in scripting languages for automation.
  • Experience in semiconductor manufacturing with a wide knowledge of process, device, product, materials, and test engineering is highly beneficial. Thorough understanding of manufacturing and production in the industry.
  • Demonstrates excellence in building teamwork, and communication across multiple organizations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills across multiple levels in the organization.
  • Ability to thrive in a multi-cultural environment with diversity, equality, and inclusion as core principles.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in project management, scheduling, logistical planning, resource, and constraints.

  • Demonstrate leadership skills and an ability to develop teammates.
