This role will support to design current and next generation innovative FCE hardware and solutions. Overall, the engineer will play critical role in developing high-quality image device that meet the specific needs of the product and its users. This requires a strong understanding of camera module development, excellent image quality evaluation/measurement/testing skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Critical to the success of this position is building strong relationships with worldwide colleagues and key partners in Total Customer Experience/Quality, Supply Chain, hardware vendors, and ODM suppliers. The ideal candidate will have a passion for and experience in innovative technologies along with strong and proven technical leadership and validation skills. This position is based in Taipei. The team is split between the US and Taiwan. 

If you are our Future Customer Experience Electrical Hardware Engineer, you will conduct following activities on your job::

  • Designs engineering solutions for electrical and electronic parts, subsystems, integrated circuitry, and algorithms based on established engineering principles and in accordance with development technology practices and guidelines.
  • Develops and implements parameters and test plans for new and existing designs, including validation of tolerances, form/fit/function, shock and vibration, electromagnetic interference, safety, reliability, thermal generation, and system power measurements
  • Collaborates and communicates with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding design status, project progress, and issue resolution
  • Leads a project team of other electrical hardware engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions for moderately-complex products.
  • Represents the electrical hardware team for all phases of larger and more- complex development projects.
  • Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members.
  • Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with technology and development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality
  • Engagement with R&D technologists
  • Work cross-functionally with key partners to deliver product definition meeting feature, quality and user experience goals
  • Routinely exercises independent judgment in developing criteria for achieving objectives Qualifications

Are you a high-performer? We are looking for an individual with:

  • 10+ years of professional engineering experience
  • Video/conference product experience is highly preferred.
  • Critical Competencies and Qualifications to Drive Business Results; designing electronic components, integrated circuitry, and algorithms
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of material properties and hardware and electrical component design.
  • Using empirical analysis, modeling and testing methodologies to validate product designs and specifications.
  • Must be able to work well as part of a high-performance R&D team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills in a large, diverse environment.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Experience managing issues of technical and logistic complexity.
  • Experience achieving results through others - such as ODM partners and regional teams.
  • Proven ability to manage time effectively and lead multiple projects simultaneously across businesses.
  • Strong troubleshooting/debugging skills
  • Solid fundamental knowledge and general experience in circuit board design (high speed - GHz, analog and digital)
  • Ability to act as technical guide/leader in design reviews
  • Solution research utilizing knowledge of leading technology vendors
  • Hands-on test and debug experience using standard EE equipment (oscilloscopes, analyzers, etc.) and ability to perform simple rework/modification
  • CAD experience for schematic and layout (preferably Cadence tools)
  • History of embedded controller design (preferably with firmware experience)
  • Manufacturing exposure and basic knowledge of typical processes Possessing the following leadership qualities:

Bonus skills:

  • PoC prototyping experience (schematic and layout, fast-turn PCB/PCA, ability to piece together existing parts to inform architectural decisions)
  • EMC expertise
  • High speed bus expertise (USB, DP, PCIe, etc.), including protocol and compliance
  • Experience with (and leader for) regulatory and certification processes and standards
  • Manufacturing expertise (especially high volume)
