Data Analytics Intern

We are looking for a dynamic, energetic intern who is eager to learn about Waystar and the healthcare payments industry. The ideal candidate will be looking to enhance their career and expand their skill set. This unique experience will provide insight into a dynamic ever-changing and evolving industry, coupled with the opportunity to join a great company like Waystar.

As part of this internship experience, you will expand on your professional development skills as well as gain first-hand knowledge of a niche within the software and healthcare industry. Interns will assist the company with a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, learning about capturing operational data, perform detailed analytics and generate insights to assist our leaders in making key business decisions.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

General Intern Responsibilities 

• Understand and live our values 
• Attend meetings and professional development training 
• Fulfill tasks set out by manager from your respective department 
• Perform in-depth research and analysis as needed 
• Assist with reports and tasks 
• Must be able to work 20-30 hours a week 
• Complete final project and present project to manager, buddy, and others 

What will you get out of this internship? 

Project: Operational Analytics Transformation. We are looking to build operational analytics platforms and processes to surface insights from data to our client operations team to make data-driven decisions. The intern will be a part of the team driving data collection and preliminary analytics. The intern will spend 100% of time on these projects. 

You will learn: 

• How to leverage data to generate insights 
• Determine which KPIs are important for the leaders. 
• Real world application of data analytics concepts. 

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Do you fit our team? 

• Rising senior or current senior, graduation between December 2022 and May 2023 
• 3.2 or above GPA 
• Majors/Minors: Open 
• Actively involved on campus and/or community 
• Curiosity to go deeper into the projects given 
• Ability to adapt and pivot with competing priorities and/or deadlines 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.) 
• Knowledge of PowerBI, SQL, and Python is a plus, but not required 

Selection process: 

• Must meet the need in the “do you fit our team?” section of the job description 

Interview process: 

30-minute virtual interview with TA and Manager/Buddy
