About the Role: We’re looking for an experience Key Account Manager to join our Industrial Markets team in India who will grow the Flue Gas Desulphurization (FGD) system in the coal based thermal power industry. In this role, you will be responsible for growing revenue, nurturing and expanding relationships with our significant customers. You should have 15-20 years of experience in sale of capital goods to coal based thermal power plants including 7-10 years in FGD system, be self-motivated and able to work independently.

The role will be located at our facility in Mumbai, India 

Responsibilities: 

  • Accountable for managing and converting opportunities to revenue and achieving sales forecast
  • Develop effective strategies and priority list to target existing and new key accounts
  • Develop strategic, trust-based relationships with a portfolio of key accounts and act as the liaison between key account decision makers and internal team
  • Develop deep customer understanding in terms of critical purchasing criteria, stakeholder analysis, value chain analysis, customer journey mapping through frequent voice-of-customer engagement. Understand buying/tender process (timeline, requirements, payment T&C, etc) and establish tender proposals to "tailor made" for specific plant
  • Accountable to uncover and convince key buying influences (decision makers) to accept our technology and product
  • Defend our business with existing key account and negotiate contracts with customer’s corporate headquarters
  • Identify, select, and work with third party (EPC, Marketing, OEM, consultant, design partners) to penetrate new accounts effectively
  • Understand incumbent products used in customer plants and support new product launches
  • Resolve any issues or problems faced by customers, deal with complaints to maintain trust and ensure they do not turn to competition
  • Have experience in selling complex system to customer offering high value with pricing above USD20 million

Required Qualifications: 

  • BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Have worked as a Key Account Manager for minimum 5 years preferably supplying to captive power plants serving the top 5 aluminum manufacturing companies in India
  • Proven work experience of developing trust relationship with customer key decision makers and C-level executives to ensure successful long-term relationships
  • Strategic thinking capability and demonstrated skills of building good level relationship in the coal based thermal power industry with substantial direct sales experience
  • Person shall have strong negotiation skills and good level of understanding customer needs, project management and costing
  • Have a collaborative team player attitude and has worked with cross functional teams and external partners
  • Excellent communication, presentation, influencing skills and fluent in English (spoken and written)
  • Good business acumen with a problem-solving attitude
  • Ability to travel extensively (occasionally on weekends) at least 50% of time in India, and must make evening calls
