Benefits

The Marketing Organization at Supercell is a key component of the company mission to deliver our games to as many players as possible. If you are a believer that growing mobile games business through data, engineering and science is your calling, please reach out! We are now looking for a Marketing Data Analyst within the Analytics organization to help us reach this mission.

Team

The Marketing Data Science Team is a compact but efficient team that supports Supercell's marketing and enables the team to invest at an immense scale, providing data and technology to maintain the scale required to grow into the top of the top 10 mobile games publishers.

The team provides services to the entire Supercell Marketing organization in the domains of marketing data science, attribution, causal measurement and marketing analytics support.

Job

At this moment, we believe the team has already solved many simple and trivial problems and is currently working on slightly more challenging tasks. We are trying to keep ourselves eager to learn and improve in user acquisition analytics and holistic marketing data science support.

A few examples of tasks we are working on:

  • Attribution: We invest in user acquisition across a variety of channels. Are we getting value for money with every unit of investment, and how much does it move specific metrics? How do we ensure we allocate investments optimally across channels and/or portfolio? How do CRM activities and community engagement influence the metrics of digital user acquisition?
  • Bids: How much should we aim to pay per single game installation in a selected country?
  • Marketing Creatives: What is the optimal way to test creative concepts? How do custom product pages impact metrics lower in the funnel?
  • Forecasting: Players have been playing Clash of Clans or Hay Day for more than a decade. How soon can we make an accurate forecast for the return on investment in newly acquired users when a vast part of players don’t monetize in the first month since installation?

If the problems listed above pique your interest, don’t hesitate to reach out; we have a lot to discuss!

Responsibilities:

  • Address marketing data tasks ranging from analyzing the effectiveness of advertising campaigns to building models for traffic acquisition.
  • Contribute to marketing data pipelines and data models.
  • Excel in the understanding of advertising channels algorithms through hypothesis testing and experiments.
  • Research the relationship between a variety of marketing investments and game events as causes and metrics changes as effects.
  • Study portfolio-wide effects of user acquisition, cannibalization, and cross-promotion.
  • Analyze effects of creative content on acquisition and audience dynamics.
  • Manage BI dashboards, prepare reports, and make recommendations for adjustments in UA.

Technologies:

  • We optimize for effectiveness and apply no strict restrictions on the tools and technology used to get things done. Tableau, SQL, and PySpark (we use Databricks), Python/R, and any tool under the AWS stack are at your service.

Partners:

  • We value Supercell's partnerships with advertising platforms like Google Ads, Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, and ASA (Apple Search Ads), as well as technology providers. We partner with Appsflyer and Firebase (marketing data) and with the game teams closely when it comes to support for game events (product data), highlighting the company's engagement with the most effective user acquisition tools and networks.

Role Requirements:

  • A robust mathematical foundation, with proficiency in probability theory and applied statistics, commensurable with a STEM university graduate's level.
  • More than three years of experience in data analysis, product or marketing analytics; mobile games data experience might come in handy.
  • Demonstrated excellence in SQL and with a programming language of your choice (usually Python or R).
  • Business savvy for identifying pragmatic solutions and streamlining processes.
  • A proactive mindset, readiness to own outcomes coupled with the confidence to navigate ambiguous scenarios.

We want you to enjoy your time here fully, so we structure our compensation and benefits to serve this purpose. It starts with perceiving you as a human being, not a resource. Read More
