About the Job

Sandy Spring Bank is currently recruiting for an Human Resources Intern. Under direct supervision, the intern represents the company in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner at all times. Intern will be exposed to all areas of the Human Resources and Development Division. Primary projects will include work with people communications. This may include planning, developing, designing, and implementing activities and initiatives that contribute to employee engagement and branding. Periodically, intern will assist with special projects and internal meetings. 

MAJOR JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Assist with drafting and designing people related communications. This will include branding assets for external sites and internal, such as the intranet. 
  • Review existing channels, collateral, and communication metrics to make informed decisions and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with various functions in the HR and Development division to learn about people strategy and related topics. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  1. Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in human resources, business administration, communications, graphic art, marketing, or a related field.
  2. Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and ability to effectively work with different stakeholders and teams.
  3. A creative and proactive mindset, with the ability to take initiative and solve problems or make recommendations.
  4. Willingness to learn and grow.
  5. Competent skills in Microsoft Office 365.
  6. Accuracy and attention to detail are necessary.
  7. Work may involve exposure to highly confidential information. Tact and discretion are expected at all times regarding personnel information.

SPECIFIC PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Work requires reasonable mobility in and around the work area. Ability to use standard computer and phone systems is required

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Normal office environment where there is almost no discomfort due to temperature, dust, noise, or other disagreeable elements.

Work includes little or no potential exposure to hazardous conditions.
