What are the key activities of our team?

The Actuarial Function & Model Validation team ensures the quality of actuarial and financial modeling for performance measurement, solvency assessment, and new business development. Our activities include model validation, reviewing assumptions, providing opinions on technical provisions, underwriting, and profitability. We collaborate with actuarial and pricing teams while maintaining independence as a second-line function. Our scope covers all insurance activities across multiple lines of business and countries. Asset management and valuations are often involved. As an intern, you'll participate in practical tasks related to actuarial analysis and model validation, providing a comprehensive perspective on Allianz's insurance business.

Curious to discover some projects/activities you could work on?

• Analyzing datasets for trend detection and outlier identification
• Validating model assumptions using real data
• Developing a challenger model for testing actuarial cash-flow projections
• Comparing theoretical results with actual outcomes in implemented processes
• Coding scripts for automated controls on actuarial model inputs and outputs
• Researching and identifying potential strengths and weaknesses in a new methodology
