We are looking for a content creator with fresh ideas and a deep knowledge of today’s social landscape to join our social media team as a student intern. The student intern will gain hands-on experience in social media marketing and content creation while promoting USF events and telling USF stories in collaboration with students, staff, and faculty. Position Open to: Undergraduate students preferred

Salary: $18.07

Schedule Preference: Approximately 12 hours weekly

The student intern will gain hands-on experience in social media marketing and content creation while promoting USF events and telling USF stories in collaboration with students, staff, and faculty. Social Media Intern Responsibilities:

  • Create engaging and effective content, especially in video format, for USF’s main social media accounts. This position will primarily work with Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
  • Cover events and campus life for USF Social
  • Identify user generated content (UGC) for USF social channels
  • Assist in management of social channels and respond in a timely and effective way to community members
  • Assist in creation of copy, photography, graphic design, and short videos
  • Monitor interaction in USF digital forums, including official and affiliated social media channels on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, X, and others
  • Work with the social media team to implement and optimize our strategy
  • Create on-brand content representing the voice and personality of USF with consistent style, quality, and tone
  • Identify current or emerging trends, themes, and best practices in social media
  • Analyze, review, and report on effectiveness of social media tactics and campaigns, overall engagement, and community sentiment in an effort to maximize results across all channels.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

  • As a member of the Office of Marketing Communications, you will create content that is viewable by a large audience and is part of USF’s digital footprint.
  • It is important to work professionally, have the best interests of the university in mind, and keep some information confidential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong video skills that translate to TikTok, IG Reels, and YouTube Shorts
  • Demonstrated photography skills
  • Strong and effective writing skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of social media engagement and trends
  • Experience with graphic design
  • Experience creating reports in PowerPoint and Excel
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects
