Introduction

Are you a Bachelor student in the direction of Software Engineering or equivalent? Are you interested in having a look in the kitchen of a High Tech company and be part of the software integration team? The SICS-Test & Integration group provides you with just that opportunity.

Background information

For the integration and qualification of software products of the Software Infrastructure and Computer Systems (SICS) department a large set of supporting tools and scripts. Many of these scripts have been created using Python 2.7. Currently ASML is phasing out Python 2.7 in favor of Python 3. Python 3 is not backwards compatible, which results in the need to have all Python scripts to be converted to the new version. 

Your assignment

Your assignment will be to implement the necessary changes in the integration support Python script, such that these script work with Python 3. Proving that the function of the scripts is still the same after the conversion is part of the assignment. We offer you the opportunity to work in the SICS Integration team and get an impression of what software development in a high tech environment is. 

Your profile

To be a perfect match with this internship, you:

  • Are a Bachelor student in the direction of Software Engineering or alike;
  • You have usage experience with Python and know the implementation differences between Python 2.7 and Python 3
  • Are open minded, enthusiastic, eager to learn and willing to contact people to get the required information.
  • Are a proactive person with a can-do mindset;
  • Have good communication skills in English (verbal and written).

This is a Bachelor apprentice internship with a duration of 3-6 months for 5 days per week starting as soon as possible.

Please note that we can only consider students who are enrolled at a university for the entire duration of the internship.

This position requires access to U.S. controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations. Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such U.S. controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with applicants who are immediately eligible to access U.S. controlled technology.
