Position Description:

As a Metaverse/AR/VR Developer, you will be at the forefront of creating immersive and interactive digital experiences that blend the physical and digital worlds. You will be responsible for developing applications, experiences, and technologies that leverage augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and contribute to the evolution of the metaverse. Your expertise will play a crucial role in shaping how people interact with digital content and environments, revolutionizing industries such as gaming, entertainment, education, and beyond.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

1. Software Development: Design, develop, and maintain applications and experiences for AR/VR platforms. This includes programming, scripting, and optimizing code to deliver high-quality, immersive experiences.

2. Platform Expertise: Work with a variety of AR/VR hardware and platforms, such as Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Microsoft HoloLens, Magic Leap, and mobile AR platforms (e.g., ARKit, ARCore).

3. 3D Graphics: Create and manipulate 3D assets, animations, and effects to enhance user immersion and engagement within the virtual environment.

4. Interaction Design: Design and implement intuitive user interfaces, controls, and interaction mechanics that ensure a seamless and enjoyable user experience.

5. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including artists, designers, and other developers to bring ideas from concept to reality, ensuring a unified vision and cohesive experience.

6. Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in AR/VR technology and contribute innovative ideas to enhance the capabilities and features of the experiences.

7. Optimization: Identify and address performance bottlenecks and optimize code and assets to ensure smooth and responsive experiences across a range of devices.

8. Testing and Debugging: Conduct thorough testing, identify bugs, and work to resolve technical issues to deliver stable and reliable applications.

9. Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of code, development processes, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing and future development.

10. Continuous Learning: Stay informed about emerging technologies, industry standards, and best practices to continuously improve skills and contribute to the growth of the team.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Degree in Computer Science, Game Development, Interactive Media, or related field (or equivalent work experience). Must be part of an accredited Co-op Program.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, C++, or Python, depending on the platform and tools being used.
• Experience with game engines like Unity3D or Unreal Engine, as well as AR/VR development frameworks.
• Strong understanding of 3D graphics, physics, and mathematics as they relate to game and simulation development.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.
• Creative problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Portfolio showcasing previous AR/VR projects, game development, or interactive media work is a plus.
