ENERGY – Early Talent Rotational Program: Finance Specialist

This is a pilot program that LG is starting July 2023. This program allows you to learn and work in various jobs or departments throughout the company. It will also help you understand LG’s many moving parts and determine where YOUR skills best fit in. In this role you will work in 4 different departments, each for a period of 6 months. During this time you will be interacting with different managers and working on different projects over a TWO YEAR period. This role will be a “Specialist Track” working directly with the CFO Organization at LG. Here are the 4 departments you will cover:

Accounts Receivable - Associate A/R Collections Analyst

  • Reviewing customer account status and following guidelines on releasing customer orders entered in the system
  • Control and maintain the collection of current and past due invoices
  • Research and investigate reason for non-payment and obtain necessary documentation/information to provide to customer to support collection
  • Request debit memo copies from customer to research and determine validity for credit memo processing
  • Manage collection of invalid chargebacks
  • Work directly with customer and internal departments to have credit memo processed to offset open account
  • Weekly reporting to sales, management on outstanding issues including but not limited to aged unpaid invoices, chargebacks

Sales Finance Management - Associate Claims Analyst (Administration Claim Support)

  • Responsible to ensure that claims are recording accurately in the system based on claims information
  • Full responsibility for customer's credit memo eligibility upon daily credit request- check duplication claim, over claim and invalid claim
  • Responsible to check and process daily claim submitted by Customer, Sales, Collection, and other related department to follow up timely matter and able to communicate internal/external to resolve issues
  • Able to reconcile/analyzing/monitoring claims and resolve related issues/problems
  • Communicates with various parties associated with the claims such as customers, Sales, Collections, SFM team
  • Respond to written and verbal inquiries in a timely and professional manner, ensuring to process claims within all company’s guidelines and claim policy

Credit - Associate Credit Analyst

The Credit Associate is responsible for reviewing and updating new and existing customer files, requiring analytical, quantitative and technical skills, in order to make a recommendation as to the appropriate credit limit and payment terms to be assigned to the customer. The Credit Associate will consult with the Manager and/or Senior Manager as needed to review the progress of various projects and the overall status of the department. He/She will : 1.) release orders based on credit availability, 2.) analyze financial statements in conjunction with credit risk analysis, 3.) determine overall creditworthiness, and 4.) implement credit-related policies as appropriate.

  • Handle portfolio of assigned accounts. Gather and analyze credit and/or other data to determine impact on business operations, as appropriate
  • Make recommendations for credit limits based on availability of credit insurance, LG payment history, trade references, third party sources, and other credit tools, as applicable
  • Interact with credit insurers to obtain needed coverage
  • Obtain Standby L/C from customer as needed to cover a gap between credit insurance and needed credit limit
  • If a Standby L/C is in place, the Credit Associate will monitor the expiration date and submit documentation to the bank to draw down on the L/C if needed
  • Request top-up credit insurance if deemed necessary by Team Leader
  • In cases of Bad Debt, the Credit Associate will gather all necessary documentation to report to HQ and to file a claim with the credit insurance provider(s)
  • Pursuit of the Certified Credit Executive designation through NACM
  • Complete other related duties as assigned 

Accounting - Associate Accounting Analyst

  • Assist Monthly Closing within a certain time frame (Module Closing, Cost Closing, GL Closing, Division Closing)
  • Review major transactions for responsible subsidiaries and provide immediate feedback to manager for correction
  • Confirms account balance of subsidiaries and performs balances reconciliation including property due diligence
  • Implements the internal accounting system of the corporation and verifying the adequacy of the self-assessment
  • Support the coordination of external audits, providing data, and identifying accounting issues and providing solutions
  • Provides guidance in response to the questions related to transactions from subsidiaries or escalates to manager and records the information accordingly (accounting guides, unusual transactions, training)

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Finance field
  • 0-2 years experience MAXIMUM
  • Have basic knowledge and understanding of financial statements
  • Motivated individual with the ability to interact with different capacities of management
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is a must
