Disney Streaming Services is a business unit within The Walt Disney Company’s Direct-to-Consumer and International (DTCI) segment that oversees all consumer-facing digital video subscription services across the company. Disney Streaming is responsible for developing and operating The Walt Disney Company’s direct-to-consumer video businesses globally, including the ESPN+ premium sports streaming service, programmed in conjunction with ESPN; Disney SVOD service; and BAMTECH Media, a global leader in direct-to-consumer video streaming products and solutions. Its core mission is to deliver global audiences the freedom to access content on their terms across any connected device, time or location.

Disney+ Product Marketing is seeking an Intern to participate in global consumer research and consumer insights. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the Product Marketing team in mining consumer insights using a variety of tools and data sets that you help create or gather from across the organization and in planning and executing primary research programs. If you are someone that is passionate about streaming media and entertainment, fascinated by the changing ecosystem for how media is consumed and pumped to be a key contributor in the most exciting consumer product to launch in 2019, we would love to talk to you!

Responsibilities:

A Day in the Life…

  • Work with Product Marketing and Consumer Insights Research teams
  • Help plan research activities including qualitative and quantitative sessions with existing users and prospects
  • Coordinate and participate in focus groups, IDIs and consumer surveys
  • Update our research and analysis of the competitive landscape
  • Work with product and design teams to support concept visualizations
  • Synthesize survey and testing results into reports and presentations to be shared with the wider organization
  • Help generate insights, recommendations and presentations to influence and inspire product decisions and designs

Basic Qualifications:

  • Ability to dive into data by writing your own queries, or willing to learn
  • Excellent communicator and storyteller who can quickly get up to speed on our customers and develop concise and compelling materials about them
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage complex projects ensuring that high level goals are met and the details are correct
  • Experience with analytical software such as Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables/Match-Index) and visualization tools such as Tableau

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the streaming video ecosystem and business.
  • Experience diving deep on data analytics. Extra credit: SQL, and/or experience using usage analytics to improve customer journey process.
  • Proven data visualization skills and ability to show us what you've done here
  • Ability to stay focused and execute in a fast paced environment with lots of change, and identify problems and solutions on your own
  • Deep interest in creating and analyzing products
  • Excellent Product/UX intuition.
  • Extra credit: Show us something you've built.

Required Education

  • Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior, Graduate Level student or recent graduate (within 6 months of graduating) pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems or related field.

Preferred Education

  • Masters student OR Undergraduate in 2nd, 3rd or 4th year or BA/BS in STEM, social science, or business administration
  • A minimum GPA of at least 3.0

Additional Information:

Internship Eligibility:

Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney

Professional Internship:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Must provide full work availability during Program Length (listed below)
  • Must provide own transportation to/from work
  • Current Active Disney cast members must meet Professional Internship transfer guidelines (for Walt Disney World cast members this is no more than four points and one reprimand in the last six months; for Disneyland cast members this is six months of consecutive service and a performance record clear of any disciplinary issues (warnings, suspensions, etc.) for at least six months)

Program Length: The approximate dates of this internship are June 8-August 21st, 2020.

Ability to provide own relocation, housing and transportation. Position is located in San Francisco, CA.

Interns must be fully available for the duration of the internship.
