  • Designs and implements a Statistical Process Control (SPC) framework for key quality indicators extracted from the existing LIMS, including the development of control charts (e.g., X-bar/R, I-MR, CUSUM) for critical laboratory parameters.
  • Develops data pipelines or query scripts to extract, transform, and load (ETL) relevant quality data from the LIMS into an analytical environment suitable for SPC analysis and visualization.
  • Builds interactive data visualization dashboards that present SPC outputs, trend analyses, and key performance indicators (KPIs) in a clear, accessible format for laboratory and quality management stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with QC Engineers and laboratory staff to understand data structures, measurement types, and quality specifications relevant to IVF media and medical device manufacturing.
  • Documents all developed tools, scripts, and methodologies in accordance with GMP documentation requirements, ensuring traceability and reproducibility.
  • Performs statistical analysis to identify out-of-control signals, process shifts, and trends, and communicates findings to senior staff.
  • Supports the validation or qualification of developed tools as required by the quality management system, including preparation of user requirement specifications (URS) and testing protocols.
  • Assists in training QC personnel on the use of the developed SPC dashboards and visualization tools.
  • Participates in cross-functional meetings to align data analytics deliverables with operational and regulatory priorities.
  • Complies with GMP, ISO, FDA, OSHA, and company quality and safety standards in all assigned activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language commonly used for data analysis, such as Python (pandas, matplotlib, scipy) or R.
  • Foundational knowledge of Statistical Process Control concepts, including control charts, process capability indices (Cp, Cpk), and common cause vs. special cause variation.
  • Experience or coursework in data visualization tools or libraries (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Plotly, Dash, or equivalent).
  • Ability to work with relational databases or query structured data using SQL or equivalent query languages is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
  • Ability to communicate technical findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders in both written and oral form.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
  • English language proficiency at a B1 level or higher.
  • Familiarity with GMP, regulated laboratory environments, or LIMS platforms is a plus but not required.

Experience:

  • Academic project or coursework experience involving data analysis, statistical methods, or dashboard development is preferred.
  • No prior industry experience required; this is an entry-level internship position.

Education:

  • Advanced student (currently enrolled, not yet graduated) in a Bachelor's degree program in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Must be available to complete an internship as part of their academic program requirements (Trabajo Comunal Universitario, practica supervisada, or equivalent).
