At Eni, we are looking for a Process Engineer to join Shanghai Eni Engineering Consulting Ltd. in China. You will be responsible for ensuring the technical integrity of process design, as well as the overall effectiveness and efficiency of engineering solutions. The role also includes capturing and disseminating process engineering knowledge.

Your employment contract will be managed by Eni International Resources Ltd (EIRL).

Main responsibilities:

  • Supervise and direct design contractors in the selection and design of appropriate hydrocarbon processes, driving optimisation in terms of technology, implementation timelines, and cost. The focus is mainly on mixed fluid gathering, oil processing, gas processing, and single- and multiphase oil and gas transportation.
  • Lead the identification, development and/or adoption of appropriate discipline engineering standards, with due consideration of relevant international standards and norms.
  • Identify and assess new technologies and systems to improve the design and operability of process systems for large-scale field development projects.
  • Manage and review conceptual design outputs, including feasibility studies, functional specifications, and the Basis of Design for onshore and offshore utilities related to production and processing facilities.
  • Undertake technical integrity and HSE reviews/audits.
  • Participate in process safety management activities, including hazard identification and HAZOP studies.
  • Advise on equipment standardisation, availability, and sparing philosophies to achieve maximum plant operability.
  • Verify and endorse process simulations.
  • Produce and maintain the project Basis of Design/Statement of Requirements, including the collation and analysis of relevant data.
  • For selected development schemes, verify the preparation of block diagrams, PFDs, heat and mass balances, and process reports.
  • Verify the issuance of equipment lists and data sheets (including equipment and pipeline sizing for each development scheme), and contribute to cost estimation.
  • Contribute to the development of a database covering the size, weight, cost, and delivery time of major equipment associated with onshore and offshore utility units.
  • Lead and direct specialist and engineering contractor studies related to such units.

Skills and experience required:

  • Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering.
  • Strong engineering expertise within the relevant discipline.
  • Knowledge of internal standards, technical audits, design reviews, and documentation processes.
  • Familiarity with local, national, and international standards and codes.
  • Experience in cryogenic and water injection plant design, as well as plant revamping and upgrading.
  • Knowledge of plant construction.
  • Experience in oil and gas production systems, processes, and facilities.
  • Strong background in process design, simulation, and optimisation, including relevant software.
  • Experience in project feasibility assessment.
