Role

The AI Development & Experimentation Intern helps shape the future of Crown Castle’s real estate operations through hands‑on AI work. You’ll build prototypes using machine learning, automation, and analytics to improve site acquisition, portfolio management, and landowner engagement. You’ll explore emerging technologies, test new ideas, and identify solutions to real operational challenges. Working with cross‑functional teams, you’ll translate business needs into actionable AI insights and support the growth of data‑driven decision making in telecom infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Data Handling: Collect, clean, preprocess, and analyze large data sets for training model creation.
  • AI Model/Agent Development: Build, test, debug, and deploy AI Agents and Models.
  • Research and Innovation: Identify and implement AI technologies.
  • Automation: Utilize tools, technologies and coding to automate routine processes at scale.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of AI experiments, model development process, and results.

Education/Certifications

  • Currently enrolled as a student in a degree program from an accredited higher education institution
  • Applicants must have completed at least 60 credit hours by the first day of the internship
  • Preferred field(s) of study: Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or related technical field.

Skills and Experience

  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) from June 1 to August 6, 2026
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. on a full-time, regular basis without additional sponsorship
  • Preferred Languages: Python, SQL, JavaScript, and/or R
  • Exposure to working with CSVs, APIs, or database queries
  • Familiarity with supervised vs. unsupervised learning models
  • Exposure to quantitative analysis

Reports to: Manager, Process Improvement

Work Plans: This role falls into our hybrid work model working in the office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. On Mondays and Fridays, teammates on the hybrid schedule will have the option to work from the office or home. Beginning July 1, 2026, our hybrid work model will be adjusted to 4 days in the office on Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, teammates on the hybrid schedule will have the option to work from the office or home.

Compensation Information: The hourly pay offered for this position is $19.50 per hour.
