Software Developer Intern

Orbis

Our internship program aims to support the development of high potential individuals through an engaging learning experience at a global investment management firm. We will provide you with a project-focused internship where you can learn the latest technologies and industry best practices from technical experts.

We believe that technology is critical to our success as a firm and provides us with a competitive advantage by building our own systems instead of acquiring from third parties.

This opportunity is a competitively paid, four-month internship/co-op with the option to extend at the discretion of Orbis and the student.

Why Orbis?

  • Autonomy. While guidance and support are provided, team members own their work and projects.
  • Growth opportunities. We support our people in continuous learning and development.
  • Agile environment. We are committed to providing our people with a work environment that balances their personal needs, commitments, and interests with the needs of their team and the needs of our clients.
  • Philanthropy. Our people can contribute to society in a unique and personal way, through various philanthropy opportunities and programmes.

What will your responsibilities be?

You will receive one-on-one mentorship to perform your key responsibilities and support your experience. Additionally, you will be using the same technologies that our developers use, working on a meaningful software engineering project guided through interactions with various stakeholders.

Specific projects vary depending on business requirements, however, as an intern you can expect to:

  • Build internal platforms using technologies such as .NET, ASP.NET, SQL, AWS, Kubernetes, Angular, React and more (*project dependent)
  • Develop algorithms and models to transform raw data into valuable information
  • Design, code, test and deploy new system features using industry standard practices and tooling
