SUMMARY & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Invoice Intern supports the review and processing of invoices and related financial documentation for construction and capital improvement projects. This role assists the Capital Administration team with invoice coding, documentation collection, vendor setup, and compliance verification. The intern will gain hands-on experience in project accounting, vendor management, and construction-related financial processes

  • Assist in reviewing and coding invoices for Capital Projects in accordance with company policies.
  • Help collect and organize required documentation such as lien waivers, insurance certificates, and vendor forms.
  • Support the review and processing of invoices through the Yardi Payscan system.
  • Work with team members to verify proper budget and job coding for invoices.
  • Help resolve basic invoice discrepancies by gathering information from internal teams and vendors.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of invoices, contracts, and approvals.
  • Learn and apply accounting and project management concepts through hands-on exposure to real-world financial operations.

TRAVEL

Some out of area and overnight travel may be expected.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Interest in learning about accounts payable, project accounting, and vendor management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with Yardi or Payscan is a plus but not required.
  • Construction industry exposure or coursework is helpful but not necessary.

Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check, drug screening, and verification of employment, education, and other credentials relevant to the position.
