Java Engineer Intern

We are looking for a Java Intern to join our Consumer Applications team and contribute to building modern web applications using Java, Spring, and related technologies.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated student or recent graduate who wants to gain hands-on experience in software development within an enterprise environment.

You’ll work alongside experienced engineers, learn best practices in software architecture, and take part in developing services that reach thousands of customers.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will…

  • Participate in the design, development, and testing of web applications using Java and Spring Framework.
  • Assist in developing REST APIs that connect multiple systems and services.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers, QA, and DevOps teams to ensure smooth build and deployment processes.
  • Help in debugging, troubleshooting, and improving existing applications.
  • Learn how to write clean, maintainable, and testable code following company coding standards.
  • Contribute to documentation, code reviews, and internal technical discussions.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

In this role, you’ll need…

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of Java, Object-Oriented Programming, and data structures.
  • Familiarity with Spring Boot, REST APIs, or SQL databases is a plus.
  • Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and version control tools such as Git.
  • A “can-do” attitude, curiosity, and eagerness to learn new technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Desirable

  • Some experience with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) or frontend frameworks (React, Angular, etc.).
  • Interest in microservices architecture, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), or DevOps tools.
  • Familiarity with Agile development practices (Scrum/Kanban).
  • Enthusiasm for exploring new technologies and contributing ideas to improve the development process.
