About the opportunity

Join Align’s Developer Experience Group: a global team empowering thousands of engineers with reliable, scalable, and smart development tools. We design, support, and automate systems that keep Align’s software delivery fast, secure, and efficient.

As a Software Engineer Intern, you’ll be part of the Developer Experience team, which supports Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo), GitHub, JFrog Artifactory, SonarQube, and other critical systems used across Align worldwide. You’ll work side by side with experienced engineers to support tools, simplify developer workflows, build automation, and enhance our SDLC ecosystem.

This internship is a unique opportunity to learn how large-scale software development works behind the scenes and to contribute real improvements used by hundreds of teams globally.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will

• Support the administration and maintenance of internal SDLC tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Artifactory, SonarQube, GitHub).
• Troubleshoot and resolve user support tickets related to SDLC tools.
• Contribute to automating manual tasks and workflows using scripting and infrastructure-as-code principles.
• Assist in configuring and monitoring tools to ensure reliability and performance.
• Learn to work with AWS-based infrastructure under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Collaborate with Platform and Security teams to keep developer systems secure and efficient.
• Help maintain documentation, SOPs, and internal guides for supported tools.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

What we’re looking for

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Some experience in tooling administration, DevOps, or infrastructure support roles; internships, academic projects, or hands-on coursework experience are valued.
• Interest in providing customer support for technical tools and improving the developer experience.
• Familiarity with Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo), JFrog Artifactory, GitHub, or similar systems.
• Basic knowledge of any scripting or programming language (Python, Java, Go, or similar).
• Good communication skills in English and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
• Teamwork: Enthusiastic team player; willing to learn from others while contributing to group efforts.
