Introduction

The Machine Conditioning EUV Source team designs and delivers thermal, vacuum, and fluid tin supply solutions for ASML’s extreme ultraviolet (EUV) light sources. These solutions are essential for meeting power and throughput roadmaps in the EUV source business line. This internship in our team focuses on creating a tool that provides feedback on reliability and sustainability for mechanical designs.

Your assignment

You will develop a practical tool (possibly in Excel) that connects design choices to reliability and sustainability impacts. This tool will help our design community make informed decisions and improve product performance.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Collaborate with interns and colleagues on tool design aspects;
  • Collect data on reliability factors such as lifetime, manufacturing quality, and field performance;
  • Gather sustainability metrics, including emissions, reuse potential, and carbon footprint;
  • Create and structure a database for compiled data;
  • Analyze patterns linking design choices to reliability and sustainability outcomes;
  • Develop a user-friendly tool (e.g., in Excel) for mechanical designers.

Your profile

To be suitable for this internship, you:

  • Are enrolled in a master’s program in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering;
  • Have knowledge of mechanical design (NX preferably);
  • Understand Design of Experiments (DoE) principles (preferably);
  • Are proficient in Excel and data organization;
  • Are proactive, analytical, and communicate effectively;
  • Have good communication skills in English (verbal and written).

This is a Master’s non-thesis internship for a minimum of 6 months, 3–5 days per week. The start date of this internship is as of January or February 2026.

Other requirements you need to meet:

  • You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;
  • You are located in the Netherlands to perform your internship. In case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate;
  • If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
