• JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
    • Transition position provides guided orientation to help integrate and apply medical knowledge and sharpen technical skills for newly graduated Registered Nurses. Accountable for utilizing the nursing process to provide safe, age-appropriate, direct and indirect patient care, while practicing within the scope of practice of the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
  • DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
    • The Critical Care Internship is a preparation course to bring new graduate registered nurses to the educational/practical level to care for Critical Care patients. The Critical Care Unit supports patients experiencing a variety of complex conditions. This course prepares them to provide care through advanced knowledge and experience in a setting that provides increased monitoring, assessments and interventions.
  • EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
    • Current unencumbered Oregon RN license required.
    • Healthcare Provider Level BLS required upon hire.
    • GSR Critical Care Internship:
      • ACLS required within 90 days of hire.
      • Must have less than one (1) year of acute care experience to participate in the New Grad program.
      • Basic EKG experience preferred.
