CBC N.L. is looking for a creative, dynamic person to oversee all of our current affairs program teams and oversee any special programming, such as on-site remotes, breaking news live coverage events and planned specials. As Senior Producer, Audio and Programming, you manage the development of staff, you guide and support on-air talent. You are committed to developing relationships and content in underrepresented communities.
You are keen to collaborate with the rest of the leadership team at CBC N.L., the Atlantic Creative Content Unit and other teams across the region and network. You’re an innovative and adaptive programmer. Your leadership style inspires others to experiment and challenge traditional thinking about programming and content creation.
You are a strategic thinker who puts audience needs at the centre of your decision-making. Your decisions and leadership are based on specific goals which are clearly communicated to your teams. You have an in-depth understanding of CBC’s Journalistic Standards and Practices and are responsible for ensuring your team functions within these guidelines.
You are naturally collaborative. Your ability to build relationships helps ensure the success of your teams and the station alike. You champion team success, and find creative solutions when issues arise. The people who work on your teams know what you expect of them.
You are deeply invested in developing representative and inclusive programming and apply the same thinking for our newsroom cultures. You have a strong understanding of and/or Indigenous and other equity-deserving communities across the province.
