About the Role:

This application is for a 6-month student role from January - June 2026. Resume review begins in October 2025.

Join the In Vivo Resource Center (IRC) as a co-op and become part of a team that offers comprehensive services for researchers conducting in vivo studies. As a member of the IRC, you will support both external and internal studies, manage projects, and ensure adherence to regulatory standards for animal welfare.

What You’ll Do:

As an IRC co-op, you will be given the opportunity to learn the following:

• Gain exposure to animal husbandry practices, including cage changes, enrichment, and health monitoring.
• Learn and apply various in vivo techniques such as handling, restraining, and administering treatments via different routes.
• Train researchers on commonly used biomethodologies.
• Understand and comply with regulations governing animal use in research, including basics of Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) protocols.
• Attend research seminars on diverse topics to broaden your knowledge base.
• Participate in research projects focused on animal welfare.

Who You Are:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for animal care and welfare. We are looking for the following characteristics and experience.

• Interest in laboratory animal care and welfare.
• Self-motivated and results-oriented.
• Quick learner with ability and willingness to learn/understand new concepts.
• Ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.

To participate in the Biogen Internship or Co-op Program, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:

• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
• At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited community college, college, university or skills program/apprenticeship.

Education Requirements

• Currently enrolled in associate or bachelor’s degree program in biological sciences, veterinary technician or animal science program.

Additional Information

The base compensation range for this role is: $23.00-$27.00

The actual hourly wage offered will consider the candidate’s current academic level and degree candidacy, inclusive of Associate, Bachelor’s, Master’s, JD, MD, PhD and MBA programs. It will comply with state or local minimum wage requirements specific to the job location.
