About this opportunity:
Shape the future of advanced antenna technology with Ericsson! As a Master’s Thesis Student, you’ll contribute to the next generation of 5G and 6G antenna systems by innovating cost-effective and high-performance RF interface solutions. Modern mobile antennas are increasingly complex, often using Active Electronically Scanned Arrays (AESA) that integrate multiple radio functions. At operational frequencies between 3 GHz and 10 GHz, flexibility in connecting either to an antenna or to a filter can be key for system adaptability and performance.
In this thesis, you will explore how to design RF connector and interface solutions that meet stringent EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) requirements while maintaining exceptional RF performance. One intriguing possibility, yet to be deeply explored, is integrating the connector directly into the shield cover — potentially eliminating the need for traditional EMC gaskets. Your research could help reduce interference, simplify design, and improve manufacturability for future radio-antennas.
