Your Job

As a Plating Process Engineer, you will lead the setup of new plating production lines, establish production conditions, and control plating processes and technology. Your role is essential in ensuring that equipment and processes achieve quality, productivity, and output goals while driving continuous improvement and troubleshooting.

Our Team

You will work as part of the C&CS division, collaborating closely with departments such as plating production, quality, engineering, project management, suppliers, and planners. This role also involves global communication with key stakeholders to ensure alignment on processes and solutions.

What You Will Do

  • Lead new plating production line setups, including installation, workflow design, and new product trials.
  • Develop and maintain process controls, operation instructions, and machine settings for plating lines.
  • Troubleshoot and solve technical issues related to quality, machines, and processes during both new product launches and mass production.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external suppliers to resolve technical issues and implement changes (e.g., ECN, PCN).
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, productivity, and cost efficiency, such as reducing Au consumption and improving processes.
  • Manage plating line equipment, including preventive maintenance, spare part inventory, and supplier coordination for repairs and upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with standards like 6S, KAIZEN, EH&S, and international quality systems such as ISO and Lean Six Sigma.
  • Support trials, equipment development, and technical solutions for new plating products.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • A university degree in engineering (e.g., Chemical, Material, Mechanical, or Mechatronics).
  • At least 2 years of experience in manufacturing, with exposure to production or process engineering.
  • Proficiency in reading technical drawings and knowledge of manufacturing processes such as welding, vision systems, and chemical/mechanical systems.
  • Strong critical thinking and data analysis skills, with familiarity in tools like Minitab (Greenbelt certification is a plus).
  • Functional English communication skills, both verbal and written.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience in plating manufacturing or machine design for plating processes.
  • Advanced knowledge of plating processes, including PFMEA and new product trial management.
  • Proficiency in additional languages such as Japanese or Korean.
  • Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and adaptability to overcome challenges.
  • Hands-on experience with continuous improvement projects related to process optimization or cost reduction.
