1. Your Job

As a Plating Chemical Engineer, your primary purpose is to develop and optimize chemical usage and analysis procedures for the lab and plating line while maintaining equipment operation to support production goals. You will oversee plating line operations to ensure quality, productivity, and output targets are achieved.

2. Our Team

This role is part of the C&CS division and works closely with Production, Quality Control (QC), suppliers, and Japanese/Korean Mechanical Engineers (ME). You will supervise lab technicians, operators, and collaborate cross-functionally to implement plating solutions and improvements.

3. What You Will Do

  • Develop and implement processes for new plating production lines, including chemical setups, trials, and optimization.
  • Build workflows, procedures, and analysis protocols for plating lines, lab equipment, and water treatment processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve chemical-related issues impacting plating production quality during new product launches and mass production.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, increase productivity, and reduce production costs.
  • Operate, maintain, and calibrate plating lab equipment to ensure smooth operation and compliance with preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Coordinate with chemical suppliers and engineers to address issues during setup or trials for new products.
  • Support regulatory compliance and contribute to environmental, health, and safety initiatives, including 6S, Kaizen, and EICC standards.
  • Collaborate with sourcing teams to identify cost-effective local chemical suppliers and improve chemical recycling and reuse efforts.

4. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a relevant field, preferably in plating processes or chemical analyses.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and create standards or instructions.
  • Proficient in computer tools (email, Office software) and skilled in self-management and Kaizen methodologies.
  • English communication.

5. What Will Put You Ahead

  • Work experience in manufacturing companies with plating processes or chemical labs.
  • Familiarity with advanced analytical tools such as CVS, UV spectrophotometers, and pH meters.
  • Proven ability to improve precious metal consumption and chemical cost through innovative solutions.
