What will you do?

This is a 12-month contract position allowing the incumbent to gain relevant work experience in the financial services industry. This is a specialist technical role within the SanlamConnect Academy that works closely with various stakeholders within the business, and whose primary responsibilities are to undertake data analytics, investigations and reporting.

The position will ideally be based at the Sanlam regional office in Bellville, but we will only consider the Sanlam Office in Sandton: Alice Lane as an alternative option to Bellville.

What will make you successful in this role?

  • Extract and create regular MIS reports for the business for the Academy’s various training programmes
  • Create new/updated automated report views
  • Undertake investigations and reports based on business needs/problems
  • Use data and analytics to create insights about our learners’ behaviours and its impact on their performance as a financial adviser
  • Build business and predictive models
  • Undertake data management (structure and storage, transformations)
  • Stakeholder management

Qualification and Experience

  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
  • Must have completed and be in possession of a 3-year National Diploma or Degree in IT
  • Related qualification in data science preferable (maths and statistics)
  • Relevant accreditations in tools, applications (i.e. Python, R, SQL, etc.)
  • Experience in data analyics
  • Successful candidate should be unemployed
  • Preferably no or very limited previous working experience

Knowledge and Skills

  • MS Office experience with advanced skills in Excel
  • Report development with Power BI
