Radio SW Developer Co-op/Intern

Location: Ottawa (Kanata North Tech Park)

Duration: 8, 12 months

Start: September 2, 2025

Our Exciting Opportunity:

Ericsson Radio Product development is responsible for all aspects of new feature development: systemization, design, coding and testing of radio software to create new capabilities and satisfy customer needs. Candidates can expect a technical role with influence on product design. If you are selected for this position, you will work in an Agile environment as part of a cross-functional systems, hardware and software team (XFT) combining efforts to deliver world class 5G and Open RAN radio products. Work tasks will include some or all of the following (depending on the work assignment for the XFT)

You will bring:

  • Developing radio production software
  • Developing automated test cases to secure new/legacy functionality
  • Troubleshooting and contributing to resolution of issues uncovered during testing
  • Working with the team, and on your own, to perform software/hardware integration testing in the lab
  • Building up radio software architecture and radio access technology knowledge
  • Reviewing software designs and test plans
  • Understanding radio software development way of working and CI/CD development environment

You will have:

  • Student in a B.Sc. or M. Sc. program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 2.7 + GPA or equivalent
  • Strong object-oriented programming skills and relevant experience
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Proactive, motivated, organized and efficient
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Basic Knowledge of wireless communication standards would be beneficial
  • Strong Python programming skill and experience would be an asset
  • Hand-on experiences on AI/ML projects, Front-end/Back-end development, AWS, and Kubernetes will be an asset
  • Knowledge of Agile and Lean methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban would be an asset
  • Understanding of Software design patterns would be an asset
