Job purpose

We are seeking a motivated and curious Embedded Software Intern to join our automotive software team focused on Basic Software (BSW) development.

This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in embedded systems programming, hardware interfacing, and automotive-grade software development.

You will work alongside experienced engineers, supporting the development of low-level drivers, build system scripts, and tooling improvements that enhance software quality and maintainability.

This role is ideal for students looking to build a strong foundation in embedded C programming and real-world development workflows.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the development and testing of low-level software modules for embedded microcontrollers (e.g., TC39xx, C2000, ST SR6P6).
  • Assist in the implementation of Hardware Test Software that helps validate hardware designs.
  • Learn and contribute to the configuration of SPI, I2C, and other communication protocols.
  • Help write and update documentation (e.g., test logs, technical notes, configuration guides).
  • Contribute to the build chain and tooling scripts, including code generation tools
  • Participate in code reviews and follow internal quality standards and software development workflows.

What we are looking for

  • Ongoing studies in Electronics, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with C programming and basic embedded systems concepts.
  • Willingness to learn and contribute to real-world automotive projects.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Basic understanding of microcontroller concepts and electronics.
  • Basic knowledge of English, sufficient for reading technical documentation and team communication.

Nice to have

  • Experience with microcontroller boards (e.g., STM32, Arduino) in academic or hobby projects.
  • Knowledge of communication protocols like SPI or I2C.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git.

Recruitment process:

  • CV Review - Your application and CV will be reviewed to assess your qualifications and experience in relation to the role requirements
  • Phone Interview (approximately 20 minutes) - This initial conversation is designed to discuss your background, expectations, and answer any preliminary questions
  • Technical Interview (1h) - Conducted in English with the manager and an additional team member, this stage focuses on evaluating your technical knowledge and problem-solving skills. The interview can be held via Teams or at our office
