Do you want to work on complex and pressing challenges—the kind that bring together curious, ambitious, and determined leaders who strive to become better every day? If this sounds like you, you’ve come to the right place.
You will support the delivery of Organizational Laboratory (OrgLab) engagements in collaboration with the wider OrgLab team, typically a Capabilities & Insights Expert, and the client-service team.
Your role will involve several key responsibilities. Firstly, you will clarify the context and details of OrgLab deployment for low-to-medium complexity situations, orienting client-service teams to OrgLab capabilities. You will deploy standard OrgLab diagnostic and design capabilities and begin to interpret standard outputs of models and solutions to generate insights for the client-service team related to client business needs. Additionally, you will conduct low-to-medium complexity analyses and calculations. Maintaining current knowledge of required data security processes and protocols is crucial.
You will ensure the proper handling of sensitive client data throughout the duration of OrgLab asset deployment. You will also prepare accurate, basic documents, models, and storylines to present findings on organization design and operating model opportunities, under the direction of senior colleagues.
Furthermore, you will contribute to the knowledge, tech-enablement, and/or operational agenda beyond client work under the direction of senior colleagues. This includes supporting the development and maintenance of OrgLab assets and associated Intellectual Property (IP) with guidance from senior colleagues. Mastering basic McKinsey capabilities and insights toolkit is essential. This includes fluency in McKinsey terminology and concepts, understanding the firm’s client capability network, and having a foundational understanding of the breadth of the People and Organizational Performance (POP) domain. This domain includes core information/data sources, tools, methodologies, proprietary assets, solutions, insights, and perspectives. Familiarity with firm format and relevant IT tools is also required.
You will support multiple client-service teams on standard projects, deployed across a range of both short- and long-term topics as needed to meet demand. There is a minimum expectation of 60% client utilization and 10-20% supporting development or enhancement of OrgLab and associated assets/knowledge.
You will take ownership of simple workstreams with oversight from a more senior team member and appropriate stakeholder engagement. This includes engaging with clients and client-service teams to understand business needs and collaborating with the asset delivery team on any changes to standard asset deployment.
