About the Role:

The Wiley Internship Program offers you the chance to work with experienced software engineers and become an active member of your team. You will have the opportunity to work on multiple teams and technologies, which will help you to develop your technical skills. You will also have the opportunity to work with global teams and enhance your social skills. By participating in this program, you will become a part of the Wiley community and have the chance to build a successful career.

We have partnered with leading universities in Sri Lanka to provide undergraduates with the opportunity to code, design, test, and contribute to ongoing projects. The goal of this internship program is to help Sri Lanka build the software engineers it needs for the future.

How you will make an impact:

  • Hands-on project experience involving software lifecycle development.
  • Hands-on project experience in Programming industrial level applications and related processes.
  • Participate in new feature addition discussions with the other development teams and business teams.
  • Participate and contribute to all Agile/Scrum ceremonies within the team and cross teams.
  • Working on setting up non-prod environments and gain exposure of using them correctly.
  • Expertise in working in a multinational organization environment.
  • Proactive and Reactive Monitoring of Application Systems and Infrastructure.
  • Improve communication skills, understanding the dynamics of working in a team.
  • Reading, understanding, and writing technical documentation.

What we look for:

  • Undergraduates reading for a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or any other related discipline who are available for a 1-year internship.
  • Have strong knowledge of OOP concepts and its applications.
  • Have strong knowledge of Data structures and Algorithms and be able to analyze Algorithm's space and time complexity.
  • Have strong knowledge in at least one programming language.
  • Have knowledge of database concepts and SQL queries.
  • Having knowledge of web programming languages such as Java, Python, Typescript, and frameworks such as React JS, Angular JS, Node will be an added advantage.
  • Have a basic understanding of cloud-based environments such as AWS.
  • Have excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
