The Housing Finance Program (HFP) within HCD works with partners internal and external to King County to make affordable housing projects a reality through capital and operating/services funding support. Types of projects funded by King County include:
DCHS is seeking a skilled project manager who has affordable rental housing, homelessness and/or homeownership development; and/or new construction or rehabilitation, community development, or real estate experience. The ideal candidate will have a combination of affordable housing development or real estate lending experience, skills in building trusted relationships with a range of partners including communities of color and demonstrated success supporting housing for historically marginalized communities. The central focus of this position is underwriting and active management of projects in different phases of development to ensure that they are feasible, on track, and achieve King County’s full spectrum of affordable housing goals. The tangible results of the position’s work are the approximately 10,000 affordable housing units created or preserved in King County.
This recruitment is to fill a Term-Limited Temporary (TLT) position that is anticipated to be 18 months in duration. If filled by a King County employee who has passed their initial probation, the TLT will be as a Special Duty Assignment (SDA). This is a unique opportunity to work in the key role of building capacity for community-based organizations to lead housing-related capital projects and pursue equitable development opportunities.
