About the Role
As Manager in the Intelligent Cockpit, Ready Vision, Hardware Team, you will be a part of developing the next generation product roadmap of Harman cockpit electronics with a strong focus on the latest implementations of display technologies - such as AR HUD, pillar-to-pillar displays and future technologies. We are looking for an innovative, hands-on leader seasoned in building and leading the team that owns the hardware from concept to production and end of life for OEM vehicles.
Your Team
This position reports into the Director of Engineering and will have 5-10 direct reports.
What You Will Do
- Lead and manage a team of engineers to design, simulate, and test the hardware system.
- Develop and manage the hardware development plan for the head up display technologies, including budgeting, resource allocation, and timeline management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, optical engineers, and mechanical engineers, to ensure the successful integration of the hardware system.
- Oversee the testing and validation of the hardware system to ensure it meets industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Identify technical risks and develop mitigation plans to address potential issues during the development process.
- Research and evaluate new technologies and hardware solutions to improve the performance and functionality of the system.
- Collaborate with product management to define and refine the product requirements for the display technologies hardware system.
- Communicate with stakeholders, including senior management, customers, and suppliers, to provide updates on the hardware development process.
- Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and advancements in head up display technologies and related hardware systems.
What You Need
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Hardware (or equivalent)
- 10+ years hands on experience in Hardware development for automotive applications with 5+ years of experience building and managing high performance electrical hardware teams
- Understanding of head up display technology, optics, and other TFT display technologies
- Strong experience in design, simulation, and verification of hardware systems
- Team management: Leadership, communication, and collaboration skills for leading and managing a team of engineers to develop hardware systems
- Experience in managing projects from start to finish, including budgeting, resource allocation, and timeline management
- Experience in creating innovative hardware solutions and problem-solving skills to overcome technical challenges during the development process
- In depth understanding of industry standards and regulations related to automotive such as safety standards and testing procedures
What is Nice to Have
- Experience designing cockpit electronics + displays (HUD, Cluster, Infotainment, etc.)
- Experience designing projectors using technologies such as DLP, Laser, and TFT
- Knowledge in automotive ISO26262, TS16949/QS9000 compliant like APQP, DFMEA, and PPAP process

Salary Ranges:
$ 105,000 - $ 154,000
