Job Description
Job Summary:
Leads test engineering teams across Latin America (Dominican Republic, Monterrey, and Tecate) to support and improve manufacturing test equipment. Focuses on increasing test efficiency, reducing downtime, and ensuring equipment is well-maintained throughout the product lifecycle. Provides high-level technical support and helps resolve urgent production issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Resource Management:
- Lead and develop a regional team of test engineers and support staff.
- Allocate resources effectively across sites to ensure balanced workloads and timely support.
- Provide coaching, career development, and performance feedback to team members.
- Test Equipment Support & Optimization:
- Oversee the support and maintenance of automated test systems used in manufacturing, including electrical, mechanical, and software components.
- Ensure rapid response to test system issues and minimize production downtime.
- Define and implement preventive maintenance strategies for test equipment throughout the product lifecycle.
- Process Improvement & Standardization:
- Drive initiatives to improve test yield, reduce test time, and enhance overall test productivity.
- Promote standardization of test processes and tools across all manufacturing sites.
- Facilitate sharing of best practices and lessons learned between facilities and with New Product Introduction (NPI) teams.
- Strategic Planning & Technical Leadership:
- Provide Tier-1 technical leadership and support during critical downtime or crisis situations.
- Contribute to test capacity planning and make recommendations for capital investments in test equipment.
- New Product Introduction (NPI) Support:
- Partner with NPI Test Engineering to ensure new test equipment is qualified and validated before production release.
- Compliance & Communication:
- Ensure adherence to Rockwell Automation's standards of business conduct and compliance policies.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with stakeholders across engineering, manufacturing, and leadership teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in manufacturing, quality, or operations role, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of automated test systems, electronics manufacturing, and lean manufacturing principles.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in a multi-site, global environment.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
- Fluent in English and Spanish preferred.
