You will manage design projects from concept to delivery and through lifecycle for RAM Transport containers and specialised handling equipment.

Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home, or another remote location. As a minimum we’re all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, on average three days per week.

What you will be doing:

You will be managing design programmes of work taking items from concept through to manufacture and validation.

  • Collaborating with the wider enterprise to design RAM Transport containers and handling equipment. Stakeholders will include MoD; DNSR; BAE Systems; Rolls‑Royce Vulcan; Babcock Marine; Cavendish Nuclear & Sellafield.
  • Attending customer & supply chain meetings in house and offsite .
  • Working with the project management team to ensure that schedules, risks, costs and resource requirements are understood and maintained
  • Using Siemens NX (Unigraphics) to articulate design intent through modelling and drawing.
  • Assisting procurement in the manufacture of RAM Transport containers and handling equipment by the external supply chain opportunity to travel to manufacturers facilities.
  • Responding to supply chain; dockyard or MoD NP technical queries in support of RAM Transport containers.

  • Mechanical Design Engineering experience ideally bespoke handling or similar systems
  • Design Project experience managing from concept to delivery
  • Good stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Knowledge of Standard IT packages: Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience

To work for the Rolls-Royce Submarines business an individual has to hold a Security Check clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you do not currently already have this in place. Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets we can only progress applications from individuals who are a UK national or, in MoD approved cases, a dual national.
