Quality Assurance Engineer / Customer Quality Engineer

What You Will Do
- Manage customer QNs (alerts/claim/derogation):
- Receive QN
- Create QN report
- Contact customer (or Customer service) for further information
- Send samples of defective parts back to Molex or relevant supplier
- Assist in establishing the root cause of the problem and preparing 8D reports
- Verify the 8D provided by manufacturing plant. The quality of the 8D’s must be rated in accordance with our standard
- Manage customer portals where applicable
- Make an initial analysis of customer returned parts, including returns from OEM customers (0km failure) as well as returns from market (Field claim), and lead further analysis.
- Work with manufacturing plants and suppliers to make resolution of quality issues using 8D methodology. Represent Molex to make correspondence with customers and submit 8D report.
- Organize sorting actions on the customer side at minimum cost. Follow up the sorting costs as soon as sorting approval is provided.
- Create quality related reports for internal and external needs, e.g. internal quality reports, quality presentation to customers and so on.
- Understand, support and contribute to current Molex Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma, International Standards Organization (ISO) and Environmental, and/or Health and Safety (EH&S) Management Systems by following stated policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- More than 3 years’ experience as a quality engineer in the automotive field.
- Written and verbal English communication skill to facilitate team meeting with global members.
- Ability to travel both domestic and international (US/China/PHL/MEX). 25% travel expected.
- Japanese: Native level
- English: Native level or Upper Business Level
What Will Put You Ahead
- Knowledge of automotive electronics components
- Quality audit methodology knowledge and experience, e.g. certified auditor.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
- International assignment / overseas work experience
- Experience working with Japanese OEMs of automotive field
