Job Description

We are seeking a talented and motivated Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, testing, and optimizing mechanisms for space hardware. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in iterative mechanism design improvements based on test and production findings.
  • Perform tests and lead test teams. Develop testing requirements, materials, processes, and tooling (vibration, shock, TVAC, assembly).
  • Participate in and execute design, analysis, and system trade studies to determine mechanism requirements at system and spacecraft levels, focusing on workflow simplicity, efficiency of handling and integration, test accommodation, and production speed.
  • Provide inputs to Design Engineering to optimize the manufacturing flow, cost, and layout, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.
  • Collect, analyze, and summarize information to generate product and process reports; solicit observations from operators and technicians.
  • Execute design and analysis using sound engineering principles while adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and program requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and investigate anomalies and failures, perform root-cause analysis, and provide resolution.
  • Provide manufacturing engineering support to production.

Essential Skills

  • Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 0-2+ years of previous experience as an aerospace or similar manufacturing engineer.
  • Knowledge and experience in mechanism development and testing for space hardware.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team with other engineers.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be a US Person or have a permanent resident card.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with aerospace manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with space flight mechanisms, spacecraft, electronics, mechanisms, analog circuits, and digital circuits.

Work Environment

This is an on-site role located in Midland/Odessa, Texas. The position offers a supportive and collaborative work environment. Benefits include salary, stipend, relocation assistance, covered hotel room for 2-3 months, and stock options.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $110000.00/yr.

Hire comes with salary, stipend, relocation assistance, hotel room covered for 2-3 months and stock options with AST

This is a fully onsite position in Midland,TX.
