The Global Sourcing Manager, Mechanical, will be responsible for the sourcing and supplier management activities of Sonos’ supply chain in South East Asia, mainly focus on Mechanical commodity, and will play a significant role in the development and execution of Sonos’ global mechanical sourcing strategies and Sonos global manufacturing footprint. Applicants should have extensive experience working with the mechanical supplier base, specifically those operating in South East Asia, preferably within the high-volume consumer electronic sector. Additionally, applicants should have in-depth knowledge of raw materials, manufacturing processes, and cost structure in the areas of molded plastics, rubber, extruded and die cast metals, and all finishing operations (punching, stamping, CNC’ing, anodizing, painting). The following skills and experiences are required for this role:
The successful candidate must meet the following requirements
1) A 4-7 years working experience related to supply chain, manufacturing, global sourcing within high volume consumer electronics industry;
2) A minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical materials sourcing with suppliers operating in China;
3) Solid NPI management experience;
4) A proven track record of quickly learning a new sourcing environment and the ability to understand new technologies;
5) The demonstrated capability to apply analytical techniques to problem solving;
6) A strategic thinker and results oriented;
7) Natural leadership competencies; influences others through style, personality and subject expertise rather than organizational design;
8) An ability to balance business and technical objectives in decision making;
9) A proven supplier relationship management track record;
10) Price and contract negotiation skills;
11) Excellent communication and presentation skills in Mandarin and English, both written and spoken;
12) Ability to effectively work in a multicultural global business environment;
13) Excellent decisiveness - the ability to make sound business decisions in the absence of perfect or complete data;
14) Should be very familiar with SEA supply chain (Mechanical, PKG).
In addition, the candidate should have a bachelor degree, preferably in engineering, from an accredited university, and be willing and able to travel.
